7 Fun and Quirky Date Ideas!
i have had some requests to give some fun, inexpensive and unique things to do with your partner either for valentine’s day or a random thursday!
1) try something neither of you have ever done together!
really into the olympics? why not learn the sport of ‘curling!’ check out this website to find places in your home state (i am already planning on doing this with my hubby) and at our place it’s only $10 bucks each!
2) thrift shop dress up:
you each get $5-10, go to your local thrift store and pick out one another’s outfits. then you wear said clothes, go get frozen yogurt or go to the cheap theater so people you can giggly madly together while everyone stares at you.
*pro-tip: i went the route of making my husband’s (boyfriend at the time) outfit look put together so people thought he actually picked it out. what he picked for me was just a weird jumble.
3) scenic board games and picnic date!
i realize it’s snowy in some places but not everywhere! make some sandwiches, grab some cookies and get your favorite board games into the great outdoors or somewhere unique!
4) grocery store mash up!
you each are separately responsible for getting ingredients an then creating a meal together. divide up who picks out the protein/veggies/side dish/carb/dessert/random other ingredients but NO discussing themes or tastes together. you have 7 minutes to race through your local grocery store, pick out random items and then go home to create something from all of this! it’s hilarious and fun and don’t worry-you can use the internet to figure out how they call come together.
5. volunteer together (and play with baby animals!)
find out if your area has a local rescue shelter for unique animals. not only would it be great to make a donation there but also spend your time volunteering together! plus, you’ll probably get cute pictures that might make your future children think you were super cool.
6. be kids again!
find an arcade or kid’s play place, dig in your couch cushion for quarters and start working those thumbs out and air hockey skills!
nobody said you have to eat their pizza so pick up ingredients on the way home and create a custom one!Β crank up the tunes and make it together. when you’re conscious about doing something special together-you will see a change in the amount of energy and fun you can have. one of our favorites is to make pizza! i served up the slices and added a little ‘extra love’ to his piece. little things make a big difference and my lopsided pizza heart barely took any extra effort!
7. tye-dye date night!
you can find inexpensive tye-dye materials at your local Michael’s craft stores. this is a fun way to create something together and if they turn out hideous-you don’t have to keep them. or maybe you should so you can have a good laugh every once in a while.
the new wifestyle:Β it’s important to spice things up with fun dates because sharing memorable experiences brings you closer together!
what are some of your favorite fun dates? add your ideas of fun dates down below in the comments so we can get more ideas and make our significant others think we are extra awesome.

Its not that I’m not creative about dates anymore, we just usually use those type of thing as family stuff as well. Nick and I are very ritualistic people when it comes to dates and stuff, though. We find comfort in it. All our crazy comes from small child.

Wow Chelsea those ideas rock! Thanks for sharing. I like how you had a picture of you and Ryan doing each suggestion. I don’t know about your future kids, but I thought your picture holding the unusual animals was super cool.
A fun date idea is to get big blocks of ice from the grocery store and ride down a large steep grassy hill with them! Try it you’ll like it.

Ryan’s thrift store outfit you picked for him rocks! It really does look like something he (or somebody) would have picked out in terms of an outfit.
