We “Touched Down” in Chicago! (see what I did there)

we have arrived safely in Chicago and thanks friends on facebook for suggestions on what to do for our few free hours on Sunday! still looking for suggestions so let me know your favorite thing to do or place to eat in Chicago pretty please!

our flight was about 3 hours delayed yesterday but thank goodness we flew in then because tonight and tomorrow there is estimated to be anywhere between 6-12 inches of snow! this is the only photo i’ve taken in Chicago because we’ve been working away in our hotel room.

wifestyle chicago viewi also have the best husband ever who offered to go down and get me breakfast because i attempted to workout when i’m still feeling a little weak and then passed out on the bed. he’s the best. and so are potatoes.

wifestyle hotel life foodyou may not know this about me…but i’m not really into sports and this is by intention. i happen to get a little too involved when it comes to feeling competitive for a team and i’ve also witnessed quite a few people go insane over them. i’m for Colorado so naturally i’m pretty pumped that my broncos (hah just kidding. they aren’t mine. i’m a fair-weather-any-sports-fan) made it to the Superbowl!

broncos flag

fun fact about me: i was born on Superbowl Sunday.the broncos lost to the giants. the last time they won the Superbowl was on my 11th birthday in 1998. i distinctly remember sporting a Superbowl shirt with the date on it and feeling like a true badass. i wish i knew where that shirt was so i could attempt to squeeze into for Sunday’s game!

my husband and i were getting super excited about going to a Superbowl party and seeing a lot of our friends we haven’t seen in a while, eating delicious snack foods and him watching me get way too involved in cheering for the broncos while bickering with the majority of seahawk fans in our neck of the woods. major let down when i just looked at our return flight from Chicago to Portland and our plane takes off right as kick off starts! boooooo. i am more disappointed than i anticipated.

i hope someone on the plane has a subscription to cable and can stream it because i have a feeling much of the plane will be depending on this person to pass the 4.5 hour flight back home! hope you are having a fantastic friday!

the new wifestyle: be sure to remember all the sweet things your significant other does for you so you can kindly repay him/her!

questions:

1) suggestions for places to see and places to eat while we are in Chicago?

2) are you into sports? who’s your favorite team?

3) plans for the superbowl? let me live vicariously through you please.

Chelsea, I love your enthusiasm! It “leaps” off the page!
    1) suggestions for places to see and places to eat while we are in Chicago? I loved just walking around in the city, the architecture bowled me over. I regret not doing that boat tour that highlights all the different styles

    2) are you into sports? who’s your favorite team? I like football because I am a New Orleans Saints Fan. I was REALLY hoping we were going to the superbowl for a “two-dat” but alas, it was not to be this year.

    3) plans for the superbowl? let me live vicariously through you please.- As we are aggressively attacking our debt, I am working the restaurant ( my second job ) for Superbowl Sunday, so I will see snippets of the game while training to be a waitress this Sunday. It’s a sacrifice to know that I am missing Superbowl commercials but that is why we have the internet.. I can watch them later.. not the same but it will be good enough for now 🙂

Lol that’s funny you have a problem with getting too involved! I assume you’re probably a very empathetic person. The way you champion certain causes like not dressing up in culturally insensitive costumes also points to this. I bet that quality makes you a good partner because of the support and loyalty you give.

I’ve also given up on sports because of my competitive spirit. But for me it was because I made up for my lack of techniques by being overly aggressive. Non contact sports are my better alternatives.
