San Francisco…the City of Quick Moving Fog and Full House House!

By  |  15 Comments

my husband and i are currently loving the foggy city of San Francisco! we got to spend some time viewing the incredible fog over the golden gate bridge after our conference concluded. check out the beauty and intensity of fog (these photos were taken within literal minutes of each other).

pretty clear with fog over the water.

ryan and chelsea avery gold gate bridge looking outbasically the bridge disappeared. and then we took silly pictures.

ryan and chelsea avery tourist packagesthen we found some other scenic views with our friend Jenn…except there was nothing scenic about it.

scenic overlookafter my fingers became unfrozen and i warmed up from the frigid air atop the mountain- we went to a very important place that i have longed to see since the year i was born (it aired in 1987-isn’t that crazy)…THE FULL HOUSE HOUSE that you see on the previews of FULL HOUSE! love that show. it brings me a stupid amount of happiness every time i see it on reruns. i hope you know that we very intentionally did “thumbs up duuuuuude!”

full house houseit’s the one to the left of us. as you can tell…whoever owns that place hates people like us and they tried to trick us by painting it dark blue and putting up no trespassing signs…but we have google so we know it’s the right one.

thanks huffingtonpost.com for this photo. i'm going to frame it.

after we said goodbye to our friend Jenn, we ventured to hang out with my uncle in his way cool home in San Francisco. i haven’t been to this city since i was 17 and contemplated going to school here so i’m so excited to see it again! my uncle lives in a badass place with a great view that i will take photos of later.

for now…i must show you the spread he had waiting for us when we walked in. fresh, gooey brownies were not pictures but i ate 4 and that was bout 2 too many. my husband is looking at the TV because we convinced him that we had to watch our annual view of ‘hocus pocus’ which was an excellent sunday night indeed.

ryan and chelseaa very san francisco housethe new wifestyle: even when you’ve been to a city before, each time you go back you have a different perspective.

questions:
1) favorite character on full house? (i had a crush on uncle jesse)
2) best halloween movie that you must watch every year?
3) one city that you could keep visiting over and over again?

techno….i need you to ask your wife to find the TV show on late night reruns, put yourself back in the early 90’s and appreciate the cute ridiculousness of it. no halloween in Australia!? what! i am excited to check out iceland one day-sounds like you all had a great time!

I was weirded out about the no halloween stuff, too! They have it, just to a much lesser degree and not with lots of trick-or-treating. I’m pretty sure I can get him to watch full house and Iceland is definitely worth the trip.

    (1) I liked the dopey dad played by Bob Saget. I hope that was his name.
    (2) I tend to fall asleep or have nightmares with Halloween movies.
    (3) Alexandria on Egypt’s north coast, it is San Francisco like. It has neat mix of Roman ruins, a modern library, a lighthouse, and a mellow vibe.

ohhh danny tanner (played by bob saget so yes you are right). he was so dopey but i always loved how he ended things with a hug! i know what you mean about bad dreams with bad movies…that’s why i stay mellow with kid friendly movies 🙂

alexandria is so amazing! we only spent a day there and didn’t make it to the inside of the library. now you are making me want to go back!

    1. At the time, Michelle… I asked my parents if I could change my name. Now I’m all about some John Stamos.
    2. Hocus Pocus is waiting for me on my DVR. I really need to make time to watch it by Thursday.
    3. I agree with the person who answered Reykjavik, but it’s technically on my I-want-live-there list. Copenhagen will always be at the top of my visiting list.

LOVE those ‘scenic’ photos – very cute 🙂

    1) favorite character on full house? (i had a crush on uncle jesse) – can I admit I’ve never watched one?
    2) best halloween movie that you must watch every year? – don’t have one, but always watch ground hog each year during Christmas. It never seems to get old!
    3) one city that you could keep visiting over and over again? That’s a tough one. Melbourne is pretty good, and I enjoy going each time I do; both because of the friends and family, and because of the sights and sounds!

Corrine! you must watch an episode-you will have an even bigger crush on Uncle Jesse 🙂 oh man i haven’t watched “ground hog day” in forever…i should though. Melbourne is also on my list-sounds fantastic!

I know I’m a little late to the game, but..

    1) favorite character on full house? (i had a crush on uncle jesse)
The dad. Even more so when I got older and realized he’s a pretty filthy comic and does a very non-family-friendly act. I also liked him on “American’s Funniest Home Videos”.

    2) best halloween movie that you must watch every year?
Always partial to the original “Halloween” (with Jamie Lee Curtis), although I don’t have an annual tradition. I don’t celebrate Easter, but I’ve made it an annual tradition with my girlfriend that we watch “Jesus Christ Superstar” every year around that time. …or was that for Christmas? I guess I’ll know in a couple of months!

    3) one city that you could keep visiting over and over again?
Chicago. Many great activities, but also a LOT of GREAT FOOD!

ah yes bob saget and his dirty stand-up! ravery and i saw him when he passed through portland and while he was quite obviously very different than mr. tanner…i was expecting more filth. that could be saying something about my threshold though 🙂 i really like him too! i have yet to see “JC Superstar” but it’s sounding like i should add it to my list. “halloween” is a great one! ohhh happy to hear about good foods in chicago…i may need your list because we are headed there in february dave!
