Aloha from Hawaii!
we are currently soaking up our last day in Oahu, Hawaii and i am happy to report that my soul is feeling somewhat revitalized! check out the view from our hotel room on the 22nd floor. this is probably one of my favorite monday mornings ever.
we had a good event here on friday after we got in (i made the mistake of telling my husband that if he were on east coast time, he’d be speaking from 12:30am-2:30am. apparently that is not helpful?). we met some fantastic people and one man, Greg, even got us leis to welcome us to the island. aren’t they beautiful? mine smelled so fragrant it was almost unreal. mahalo Greg!
i am excited to do a recap of the fun places we traveled here, the good food we ate and the beautiful beaches…but for now i must go sit on the beach and watch the waves roll in.
oh, and my husband is basically Ariel from the little mermaid. look at this!
the new wifestyle: truly resting and becoming revitalized is essential to a happy marriage and life. i have found the beach often aids in this.
questions:
1) have you been to hawaii before? is it on your list? (it should be)
2) are you a beach person or does sand drive you crazy?
3) where is your favorite place to become revitalized?

We are just trying to decide whether or not to go to Hawaii, and if so, for how long. I’m voting 3 weeks plus, but I’m a bit worried there isn’t enough to do there to fill in the time. Love the photo of ‘Ariel’ 😀

1) Never been to hawaii before, and I’m not totally sure if its on my list. Sure it has volcanoes, but theres many places with them 🙂
2) Hmm, sand does annoy me, but If im expecting it, I’m not fussed about being sandy. This however does mean I need to be wearing the right shoes etc and being near a beach without too many touristy people.
3) So far, the best place has been Blue Lagoon in Iceland, that was soooo revitalised. But then again, all of Reykjavik was good for that, so much good fish to eat.

well hawaii also has….amazing beaches, great snorkeling/scuba diving and a super neat culture/history for added things that should put it on your list 🙂 i know what you mean about the right shoes for sand…nothing is worse than being trapped in the wrong shoes with sand in them.
i want to go to iceland but i don’t want to eat fish…will i still be fed there? 🙂

1) Well, after we leave America, Nick can’t come back for a bit. So it will be awhile before we can get to Hawaii.
2) I’m okay with the beach but the beach means sun and I burn badly. Nick has a strict sand policy. You come home, you leave the clothing and shoes you went to the beach in, at the door. No sand in his bedroom!
3) ICELAND!!!!!!

sounds like you should go to hawaii right NOW 🙂 or at least convince him for later! yeah we had that rule with only one of the beds being using for sleep and all other sitting/clothes/things had to be completely away from it. sand is a rough thing to get rid of!
