YAY! Voted “Top 10 Blogs for Wives!”

By  |  20 Comments

i awoke yesterday to find an email letting me know that “the new wifestyle” has been named one of the TOP 10 BLOGS FOR WIVES- according to datingadvice.com!

i am quite honored and thrilled to be a part of this list! be sure to check out the other wife blogs listed on there because they are quality and many of the other ones are christian-wife-themed so if you are looking for that piece of your relationship-check them out!

this little badge gets to hang out on the side of my blog now and i’ve already polished it (virtually) this morning but really…i need to clean my computer. it’s full of crumbs.

to celebrate this as well as my husband receiving some super excellent news (i know it’s annoying to be cryptic but i’m doing it anyways) we walked up to the store and got our favorite happy hour/dinner!

we thought it’d be silly to buy a table and chairs for our balcony when portland is still so rainy but the past few days have been glorious. good thing dining room chairs can be brought outside and boxes full of our CDs can be used as tables!top blogs for wives food celebrationhe took this picture of me and as i was looking at pictures today, i sort of freaked out. this looks like a grown-ass lady sitting on a chair with my smile. i still absolutely feel 17 so i’m not sure if it’s the hair or the way-cool necklace my mom got me…but this picture seems to be making me look like an adult. the camera must be set on “mat-uuure.”chelsea looking like an adulti do also want to let you know i almost didn’t put this picture up not only because i look a little “adult-y” but also because i pulled on that exact same shirt this morning and now must change it because i’m going out in public today. one of the perks of working from home is the whole “recycle-your-outfit-for-three-days-in-a-row” thing. maybe i’ll just throw on a sweater and that will count?

it feels excellent to celebrate and be proud of your own accomplishments and even better when you have someone who celebrates them with you. i feel very thankful to have a husband that constantly lifts me up, helps me strive to accomplish big things and is sort of a dream boat.top blogs for wives the new wifestyle chelsea and ryanhope your thursday is going excellent and please check the settings on your camera to make sure they are appropriately set.

the new wifestyle: lift up and celebrate one another’s accomplishments!

questions:
1) what would be on your favorite snack plate?
2) please tell me i’m not the only one who wears the same clothes more than once if they don’t smell?
3) what do you do to show your significant other that you are proud of their accomplishments? (we tend to jump up and down, hug a lot, and eat good food)

Congrats on “making the list”, Chelsea!

I am a BIG fan of recycling clothes that don’t smell. Sometimes, my nose deceives me, but usually I’m good. 🙂

Looking forward to hearing the announcement of Ryan’s excellent news, as well. Gosh, you’re so cryptic!

    Take care!

Congratulations girly whirly!!!! I’m sure there are many more awards to come.
If it’s any consolation, I still feel 17, highly immature and I think they’ll probably come and take my kid away any day now.
    1. That snack plate there looked pretty darn good. I just had one with sliced pear, avocado, rice crackers and cheese. yum.
    2. We have an absolute DUTY to stop this nonsense of over-washing our clothes. Do you have any idea how much energy and water we are wasting and how many TONNES of soap we are putting into our drinking water???? If my clothes don’t smell and don’t have stains, THEY’RE NOT FREAKIN’ DIRTY!!!!!!!! Continue to rock it girl.
    3. Food. We like food.

Chelsea- WTG!! That’s awesome. You deserve it!

    1. On my snack plate- I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE doing a “veggie tray” with pita chips and hummus….YUM!
    2. Yes, I do wear the same clothes more than one day, if they still smell ok. Not to mention- I’m a huge collector of body sprays and perfumes, so that helps. 😉
    3. The one thing I do to show my guy that I’m super proud of him (hey- he’s done 2 half-marathons and gotten his Master’s Degree in Business, not to mention several bike rides over 60 miles) is I reassure him that he’s awesome (he picked me as a girlfriend…what better accomplishment than that? LOL), and tell him I’m proud of him. We call each other on our stuff when we’re getting off track. He’s a great guy and I’m so proud that he’s so motivated!

    Very belated congratulations!

I have a rule similar to Paula’s. I will wash it after I have worn it multiple times and it starts to smell the exceptions of course being if I spill something on it. I do usually wash the inner layers (t-shirts) more frequently than the outer layers (i.e. sweaters/sweatshirts).

thank you vivien!!! much appreciated 🙂 glad to hear we are on the same page of washing clothes too (agree with the spillage part!)
