Married Life Chats Volume XII

By  |  15 Comments

it’s that time again to share some of the absurd married life chats that occur between me and my husband! the fact that we make each other laugh is one of my favorite things ever about our marriage. i had a great weekend in kansas city with family but got home late and he left for another trip early this morning so sharing these chats are making me miss him a little less!

Married Life Chats

him: i don’t feel very good.
me: then get away from me – pregnant women have a suppressed immune system!!!!!
him: i am literally in the other room…

him: wow, i just burned 1,700 calories from my workout!
me: wow, i just ate 1,700 while you were doing your workout!

him: you are way prettier than olivia wilde.
me: i like you. you give people an inflated sense of self-confidence.

me: when you were gone, i made my smoothie with some of my soy ice cream instead of milk!
him: so…you had a strawberry milkshake for breakfast.
me: oh. yeah. well… it was stupid good.

talking about whether to go to a happy hour or not after my husband got back into town
him: yeah i don’t really need to go out and make small talk with others. i’ve been around people all week and i’m exhausted.
me: …yeah…i haven’t seen anyone since tuesday…

in reference to having a baby growing in me
him: OMG. you are never alone! no matter where you go, you are not alone!
me: stop. stop. stop. i can’t think of it that way. it makes me want to run away.
him: (quietly says) but you still won’t be alone…

your turn: let’s hear some of the treasures that have been said by you, to you, or around you!

Strawberry milkshakes for breakfast is perfect – you have the protein and fat from the soy milk, carbs from the fruit. It’s practically healthy!

    I can justify ANYTHING!

P.S. It is SUPER creepy to think about you never being alone because you’re pregnant.

ha! thanks for the rationalization elyse – that’s why i like you πŸ™‚ maybe i should have another one today πŸ™‚

it’s INSANE to think about never being alone – that one honestly pops into my head every now and then and makes me feel weird.

HAHA! I love these. Especially the last one. And the strawberry milkshake for breakfast. I mean, it has strawberries & soy ice cream so it’s *basically* a smoothie . . .

Hahahaha. That last one! I can literally hear him whisper, “but you still won’t be alone….” That’s an introvert’s worst nightmare!! Haha!

Strawberry milkshakes are 100% appropriate for breakfast when you’re growing a human. So is being a hermit for days at a time πŸ˜‰

haha that’s totally what i thought too audrey! i was like ‘but my introvert self needs to be alone!!!” haha it’s funny when my husband travels he has to socialize a ton with his audience and clients of course but i mostly just chill at home without my one other coworker so it’s exact opposites!

B: You know how one of my life goals to become scuba certified, what is one of your life goals?
Me: To learn how to hiphop dance.
B: (laughing hysterically) Yeah you should come up with something else.

1700 calories burned in a workout?? That’s crazy. I did a workout this morning that felt pretty hard and the app told me I burned 75 calories…mostly I don’t even want to burn calories but somehow I can’t imagine how dead I would feel after a workout that used up that much energy….hahaha….

i know, it’s SO many calories! he is actually training for an ironman so his workouts are now multi-hour (isn’t that insane?!). he is becoming the most physically fit of his life and i’m just continuing to expand.

    Trav’s comments on having a child…
“Are you excited that when the baby is here my friend count in Brisbane will double?” (He has only work friends, mostly by choice so don’t feel bad for him).

“I can’t wait to have a kid so I can make them make awkward poses” (he is currently trying to convince me to pose for a picture right before she’s due with a red turkey thermometer coming out of my belly button).

“I can’t wait until (Baby) gets strong hands so I can make her give me back massages.” (After I’ve refused his 10th request)

This is what I’m dealing with over here…
