When was Your Last “Love Day?”

By  |  16 Comments

it’s february today – the official month of ‘love!’ we are moving from portland to denver this month and thankfully we secured a place to live last week! yay!

my husband and i feel like we’ve been going non-stop with sorting out life things, business things and moving things. recently we have felt slightly less connected as a couple as we want to feel so we put a “love day on our calendar. that day is today it includes headlamps so we are pretty excited about this adventure!ra-7667

today i simply want to put on your radar thinking about the last time you spent uninterrupted time together as a couple. get off social media, turn off your phone, and tune into each other.

since we run our own business, we get the freedom to take our love day on a monday (insanely grateful for this) but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t do the same to take off your favorite day or the week or plan this on the weekend. fully commit to have your energy on each other during your “love day” and reconnect as a couple. it’s necessary and not always easy to ‘find the time’ so make the time. your relationship will thank you.

when was the last time the two of you spent quality, uninterrupted time together?

We are in Tucson on business and last night we went out to dinner and decided to leave our cell phones in the car and focus on each other. It was wonderful! I can’t believe how attached we get to our phones. I found myself looking in my purse several times during the dinner.

Pai & I do date night every Monday night. We’re *pretty* good about putting technology away, but with him in grad school, our date nights sometimes morph into him having to do homework and me blogging. Tonight I’m taking him to a soda bar downtown though!! I’m excited 😀

Firs of all, I LOVE the shade Sugar is throwing at y’all for the PDA 😉 Hahaha, she’s so animated!

I hope you guys have a wonderful Love Day!! My hub and I usually do half days because love is compromise and I married a man that loves to work… haha. But he does set time aside and he was very accommodating this Saturday when I demanded we go to Amish County for lunch 😀

We like having date nights where we go out to dinner, and of course, brunch is also kind of our thing! Hoping we are able to make sure we have quality time like that after baby, because it will be even more important that we are making time for each other.

Oh man. The last time we had a “love day” was in college when we were dating. Sure we’ve had a few Saturdays here and there where we were together all day but we’re usually watching TV and we’re constantly checking our phones. One day in college (we went to a small school in the-middle-of-nowhere, Arkansas), we left our phones in our dorms and drove to Little Rock and spent the day on the river market, exploring fun places to eat, and attending a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert! It was so fun! You’ve made me want to do something like that again!
