From Germany to Hawaii to Deep Breaths

By  |  22 Comments

i feel like it’s time for a life update. ravery and i leave for germany on friday. that’s in two sleeps. no, i’m not sweating and making lots of lists anytime there is paper in front of me. oh, did i mention we then go to hawaii immediately afterwards?!? nah. i’m cool.

atlas is not coming with us to germany because we will be there three days and it’s nonstop. my talented husband is speaking here and we figured out a way for me to go with him to network! it’s a game-changing opportunity for both of us.

my spectacular in-laws are watching atlas for the three nights we are in frankfurt. here’s where they get all the brownie points in the world – they are then flying with her from denver to seattle, where we will connect with them to continue on to ‘the big island!’ fun fact – the time change between frankfurt and kona is 12 hours. it’d be totally fine if all we had to do was lay on the beach but…atlas doesn’t yet get the whole concept of ‘lay on the beach, don’t ingest it.’

oh and mr. wifestyle (audrey gets full credit for the name) turns the big 3-0 on may 2!

please send all good vibes that our flight from germany will be on time (maybe even 20 minutes early) so we can make it on the same plane with atlas and our in-laws! so. many. vibes. did i mention we have 50 minutes between flights and have to get through customs?! deep breaths.

i am also in the midst of working on a new product for newlyweds to kick off their marriage in the most badass and healthy way. it’s exciting for me. it’s the first time i have really felt excitement about something in about 9 months (thanks uncomfortable third trimester and postpartum depression).

the clients i get to work with both for developing speeches as well as life fulfillment coaching has also given me a renewed sense of purpose. it’s fun (and challenging/hard/exciting/scary/etc.) to be a mom but i am not wired to do that full time. it feels good to use my brain and skills in other ways too. ravery and i have done some co-coaching days and they are also being very well received so that’s been extra fun for us!

he completed the 70.3 ironman in galveston, texas in early april and rocked it! remember when he did the full ironman when i was 8.5 months pregnant?! he has been so very helpful in supporting and helping me plan out where i want ‘the new wifestyle’ to go so get ready for some overhauling in the coming months.

he continues to be an outstanding husband and an incredibly attentive father!

i do feel ever so much better and i am liking being a mom 100% more than i did in the beginning. when people tell me time passes so fast with kids, i like to say, “actually the first two months dragged by painstaking and miserably slow and the last few months have flown by.”

atlas’ personality is coming out and it’s so fun to see her change daily. she’s silly, smart, observant, curious and happy!

nana (her great-grandma) is the only person in our family with blue eyes so i guess that’s where she got them from! usually babies’ eye color stays the same after 6 months but we shall see. she has two bottom teeth, is crawling and still not liking fruit.

spring time has been absolutely beautiful in colorado, especially our new home! we moved in the dead of winter so we didn’t really know what to expect with our yard. it has been such a delight for us to walk around the yard each day and see what else is popping out!

the previous owners lived there for 25 years and loved gardening so we have the most beautiful outside ever.

at least once a week, ravery and i agree that moving to colorado has been one of the best decisions we’ve made. we miss our friends in portland (dearly) but having such a fierce village of support for our daughter in denver has been more necessary than we could have imagined.

our sweet pup sugar continues to be so loving and patient to atlas. she loves her a little more now since solids have been introduced – there are always lingering flavors to be licked off of her or the floor. whenever atlas naps, i don’t fully shut the door and sugar always sneaks in there to lay by her crib. it’s the very very cutest.

with that, i’m off to go make a list and check it twenty-two times (santa ain’t got nothin’ on me) as we prepare to quite literally trek the globe.

oh, and did you know i’m doing ‘tell me something good fridays’ now on facebook each friday?

what’s going in your world? give me some updates!

Ahh! I need the newlywed product :D. Atlas is already turning into the world traveler at quite a young age. She seriously gets cuter and cuter every day.

It is so good to see you guys rocking career goals and traveling while being parents. Makes me hopeful that me and my husband will be able to do the same once we are parents.

Whew- I don’t envy your flight schedule (though I DO envy your destinations!)… I’m sure it will work out 100%. And even if flights are delayed or missed, you’re gonna get there and all will be ok in the end 🙂 Good luck in Frankfort! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mr. WS!! (Glad I could contribute to the name, ha!)

she looooves her – it will be fun if you decide to have children to see how your pups do! it’s the best. whenever she hears her cry in the crib she goes in there and sits beside too!

mr. WS says thanks for the bday wishes!
