My First Vlog – Christmas Edition + Special Guest!
after enough encouragement from my blogger friends (thanks amanda from notes from a newlywed because all caps totally get me!) i decided to do my first vlog-which means it’s a video blog. if we’ve never met in real life, i bet you don’t know what my laugh sounds like or the weird faces i make when speaking. it’s all here.
these prompts came from faith with the golden vlog series (she does an amazing lip-syncing rendition of n*sync’s holiday song).
since i talk about my darling husband so much on the blog, i figured “hey! why doesn’t he do this with me?!” and then he readily agreed because he loves the camera. i know this because of his shameless self-promotion at the end of the video.
please at least one person subscribe to my youtube channel because it currently says a big, fat ZERO and it’s embarrassing. even my husband hasn’t subscribed. jeeeeeez.
here’s the article for some tips on how to decide where to spend the holidays because i know it’s hard (and we really do have a spreadsheet this year).
let me know what you thought of it and if we should do more ‘vlogs!’ i promise we can actually harmonize pretty well together when we sing made up songs at the dinner table. maybe we will capture that another time. apologies for not being mariah carey.
happy saturday and remember that if you want to link-up for your top 12 photos of 2014, feel free to!

okay, first of all, you two are so freaking adorable together.. (surely you tire of hearing it, but its true!)
I liked the video, it was fun hearing you sing “All I want for Christmas” by Mariah.. that song always makes me think of one of my favourite Christmas movie “Love Actually” – I like your idea of favourites being difficult or lacking a label. A cup of coffee can be your favourite because its exactly what you want at the exact right moment! I used to feel this way about picking a favourite movie but then I realized I can like lots of movies but recommend one or the other.
Thank you for your vlog – It really helped me feel in the Christmas spirit.. ( Before I started a blog, I couldn’t abide the term and called it a missive, how pretentious can you get) but I did eventually warm to it.. but a suggestion I have for you is to call it a video message or greeting or something that speaks to you.. also try to figure out what it is about vlog that makes you not like it!

haaaa thanks jennifer 🙂 yeah favorites are super difficult and i like what you said about wanting that in the exact moment! that makes me so happy that it helped get you in the christmas spirit yay!
i think i truly just don’t like the “v” and the “L” next to each other in vlog haaa but good idea that i could call it something else!

I love that you pulled ravery in this! It’s so nice to see you both!! Being hooked by a fishing line sounds terrible. That’s fantastic that you have a spreadsheet for holiday visits. And you totally need to do these vlogs again. I DEMAND IT. 🙂
