28 Things I Know For Sure at 28

By  |  23 Comments

this whole “where did the time go?” thing is really hitting me hard. i can’t believe i’m 28. that means some of my tattoos are 10. years. old.Β i’m not one of those people who freaks out about aging because if we are aging, that means we are living. it’s the quick passing of time that is making me crazy.

thanks for all the birthday wishes and love via texts/blog/facebook/email/cards/etc. i feel so loved and thankful to have quality people in my world!

it was recently helene’s 28 birthday too (yay january birthdays!) and she did a fantastic post so i’m launching off hers! i still have lots of questions and search for many answers but there are a few things i know for sure at 28…

What I Know For Sure at 28

  1. the more you experience in the world, the more questions you will have
  2. sometimes you just need to split a pizza, a bottle of wine and call it a night
  3. i’m 100% sure i’m lactose intolerant
  4. quality purses and quality shoes are worth the splurge every now and then
  5. however much i thought i loved my husband when i was 20, has been magnified and felt deeper 8 years later and hopefully the pattern will continue
  6. i will probably always have some level of anxiety but there are things that can make it better (and way worse)
  7. that feeling right before you have a belly laugh is one of the best feelings in the world
  8. it’s true, a handful of close friends are way better than a ton of mediocre ones
  9. if you work hard enough, stay focused and be authentic, you can accomplish anything.Β
  10. beans are still disgusting and i hate them
  11. family is incredibly important. soak up all the time you can with them
  12. there is mental health benefit to booking a trip in advance and looking forward to it
  13. i am introverted and crowds of people do not make me happy
  14. spending time in nature does powerful things for the soul
  15. you can’t give what you don’t have, so (truly) love yourself first
  16. the change of direction in life/career/relationship/goal is terrifying but just existing to exist isn’t living
  17. all of the terrible scenarios in my head are worse than what actually happens
  18. down time and fun are just as important as working hard and hustlin’
  19. cookies and donuts are better than most cakes
  20. a good hug and back scratch can soothe a lot
  21. relationships are complex, must be made a priority, and so very worth it
  22. jeans and t-shirts still win over dresses
  23. curly hair is sexy hair
  24. most everyone has differently sized boobs (it’s true)
  25. snail mail is the best
  26. you don’t have to dye your hair when it turns grey
  27. exercise is more about mental health than physical health
  28. loving that much deeper, taking that trip and eating that cookie are always worth it

what do you know for sure at your age?
