28 Things I Know For Sure at 28
this whole “where did the time go?” thing is really hitting me hard. i can’t believe i’m 28. that means some of my tattoos are 10. years. old.Β i’m not one of those people who freaks out about aging because if we are aging, that means we are living. it’s the quick passing of time that is making me crazy.
thanks for all the birthday wishes and love via texts/blog/facebook/email/cards/etc. i feel so loved and thankful to have quality people in my world!
it was recently helene’s 28 birthday too (yay january birthdays!) and she did a fantastic post so i’m launching off hers! i still have lots of questions and search for many answers but there are a few things i know for sure at 28…
- the more you experience in the world, the more questions you will have
- sometimes you just need to split a pizza, a bottle of wine and call it a night
- i’m 100% sure i’m lactose intolerant
- quality purses and quality shoes are worth the splurge every now and then
- however much i thought i loved my husband when i was 20, has been magnified and felt deeper 8 years later and hopefully the pattern will continue
- i will probably always have some level of anxiety but there are things that can make it better (and way worse)
- that feeling right before you have a belly laugh is one of the best feelings in the world
- it’s true, a handful of close friends are way better than a ton of mediocre ones
- if you work hard enough, stay focused and be authentic, you can accomplish anything.Β
- beans are still disgusting and i hate them
- family is incredibly important. soak up all the time you can with them
- there is mental health benefit to booking a trip in advance and looking forward to it
- i am introverted and crowds of people do not make me happy
- spending time in nature does powerful things for the soul
- you can’t give what you don’t have, so (truly) love yourself first
- the change of direction in life/career/relationship/goal is terrifying but just existing to exist isn’t living
- all of the terrible scenarios in my head are worse than what actually happens
- down time and fun are just as important as working hard and hustlin’
- cookies and donuts are better than most cakes
- a good hug and back scratch can soothe a lot
- relationships are complex, must be made a priority, and so very worth it
- jeans and t-shirts still win over dresses
- curly hair is sexy hair
- most everyone has differently sized boobs (it’s true)
- snail mail is the best
- you don’t have to dye your hair when it turns grey
- exercise is more about mental health than physical health
- loving that much deeper, taking that trip and eating that cookie are always worth it
what do you know for sure at your age?

I loved this post, Chelsea! My favorite was definitely about splitting pizza and having some wine but for me, it would be more like having the whole pizza and bottle of wine. Woo hoo!
