The NEW New Wifestyle!

By  |  31 Comments

first…a quote about change:

“there is nothing permanent except change.” -heraclitus

“change is stressful but at least you get cookies!” -chelsea avery (more on that at the bottom)

as you can see, there are some changes ’round these parts! does change stress you out or excite you or a bit of both?

The New Wifestyle Color

here’s how i sometimes feel about change: it makes me nervous, it makes me question everything myself, it makes it hard to breath sometimes, it can be exhilarating and grand and it’s also a blasted inevitable thing. oh changes, you rascal.

so as to not overwhelm you, i will leave this peaceful picture right here for you. that was from our time almost a year ago in hawaii…mmm mai tai’s, sand and tan lines….yes please! fine, the picture is actually for me and i may or may not be sitting here in my bikini hoping to will myself into the picture.

C TheNewWifestyle

tomorrow i will call attention to the bigger changes (besides layout because…well…you can see that now). poke around, let me know what you think and know that i am still working out some kinks and formatting so it reads best for you!

the biggest thing i’ve become clear on is that ‘the new wifestyle’ is about empowering women and their relationships. it’s about making our own choices and not adhering to outdated expectations of women or wives.

to celebrate the changes, i figured i should reward you with the chance to win a $25 gift card to amazon! my recommendations would be to buy your pet a halloween costume, buy a few books, try to find those jellies from the 1990s or check out the shop page for more ideas!

here’s how you can enter:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

of course, a massive shoutout to my technically savvy husband who stayed up until the wee hours of the morning helping me update the website! he even picked me up a plethora of cookies on his way home to keep us going. he’s the best. see, changes=cookies! it’s basically science.

IMG_0808happy october and welcome to the new new wifestyle!

questions:
1) did you see i have a fancy newsletter coming AND my first e-book out? did you get it!?
2) how do you feel about change? do you embrace it or does it take some time?
3) since it’s october, what is your favorite thing about fall?

Although, I am not married now, I read everything that I can in regards to relationships because the information is helpful for every kind of relationship. And it does get me ready for a romantic relationship if one does come into my life. Change for me is sometimes difficult but then I get in a rut and get restless. It’s usually the first step that is difficult. Once I take that step, then it’s exciting. The best thing I like about fall is the cooler temperatures. Since I live in Texas, we only have 2 seasons…hot and not so hot. I like having my windows open for fresh air. As the temperatures drop, I also like the crisp air that comes with the Indian summer. Cool in the mornings and warm in the afternoons. I would love it if I could live somewhere with the temperatures in the low 50’s for the lows and then the low 80’s for the highs. I love your blogs because you are so real and honest in them and you don’t sugarcoat the bad things. I look forward to reading more.

i am SO glad you still read and take insight into your other relationships, pebby! that makes me really happy to hear 🙂 agreed that once you take that first step (even when it’s super hard) the excitement soon follows. ha! so true about TX-we lived there for a few months last year and that hot is SO hot. you are a strong woman for putting up with that!

thankful to have you as a reader/commenter pebby! i shall continue to write real and honest posts about our relationship.

    1) Yay Newsletter!
    2) I sort of love change. I like freshness and newness! And I LOVE the new site! Congratulations!
    3) Favorite thing about Fall: Squash! I’ve overdone the fall squash thing already I think. Kabocha, Butternut, Delicata, they’ve all been purchased already and it’s only October 1st. Just too good.

hooray! glad you signed up and let me know what you think of the e-book! i’m glad you’re liking the new site, brittany! still playing around with a few things but overall i’m happy with it! i shall channel your energy of loving change because when you describe it as freshness and newness that sounds much more bearable!

also…i had no idea those other squashes besides butternut (and spaghetti) existed. teach me your ways!

    1. I did and I did.
    2. change? what’s change? You mean like 50 cents? Oh I love it and I hate it but you gotta deal with it like it or not.
    3. I like the fashions of fall. I love being out there in the crisp mornings lookin’ all cool. I like starting over- it’s like New year’s because school’s starting again. I like thinking about the goals of the year- my speaking, my career, my home schooling.
I like it all but I want the green chevron back. The grey sides are very grey.

mmm crisp (rain-free) mornings are my favorite. sounds like some good goals for the upcoming school year for you too!

Congratulations on the new design. I like it! I think the newsletter is in my inbox, but I have not read it yet. I’m sure it will be fab 🙂

I like change – when I can control it. LoL! In all seriousness, I can be apprehensive of change but I also embrace it (gingerly). It’s funny, as I get older, I am not as crazy about change as I was in my youth.

My favorite thing about fall is taking walks in crisp, cool air and pumpkin pie 🙂
