March Vlog – Books, Movies and Sugar’s Debut!

By  |  12 Comments

happy friday! i couldn’t stay away from the golden vlog because i was watching all these other fabulous ladies talk about books and childhood and had to get in on the fun. so here is the march vlog – books, movies and my sweet puppy’s debut!

i had a window last night where i felt decent so i whipped out the camera and there ya have it. if you’re new here…HI! you should know that i’m wearing a colorado t-shirt because that’s where i’m from but i live in oregon.

since i’ve been sick and my husband is gallivanting on the beach, i put my CO shirt on because it makes me feel better. sometimes when you’re sick, you just want your parents to take care of you, especially if your spouse is away.

in this video you shall see:

    • SUGAR! she does an awesome trick that i’ve put in slow-mo with a brontosaurs wail (that should have sealed the deal)
    • what character i wish i could be/already am in my head
    • what books influenced my childhood (hint: they include sleuths and ghouls)

if the video doesn’t show up, click below to view or to subscribe to my youtube channel!

1) what were some of your favorite books growing up?
2) which fictional character would you want to be?
3) what book are you currently ready?

SUGAR!! Hi, girl! I love that she’s flopping all over at the beginning. Your replay effect was quite fantastic. Thanks for the Friday treat, haha. This is why you are awesome. Can we hang out yet?
OMG, I HATED The Hills Have Eyes too. And I really really love horror movies, but that one was just way too messed up for even me, and my movie tolerance is high.
I loooved Nancy Drew books too. I remember going to the library every week and looking forward to checking out the next chapter. It was so sad when I finished them all. But by then I think I just started Sweet Valley High anyway.

So much Harry Potter and I LOVE IT!! Those books absolutely shaped my childhood and pushed me to read and write! I feel like the deathly hallows tattooed on my ankle says it all! Ha!
I would love, love, love to be Hermione Granger, but I would also KILL to be Mystique from X-men. Or just my own, made-up X-(wo)Men character. Weird, right? Lol.
I’m currently reading The Other Typist (I don’t know the author- it’s on my night stand right now). I just love historical fiction!
    Also, Sugar is the cutest!!

It was so great to watch to this vlog! I might have to do this linkup sometime. We are so the same on having all the feels. I cry all the time too. It doesn’t matter if it’s a movie, book, TV show, whatever. I’ll sob. You know it’s bad when your family says “Here we go…” when they notice I’m about to get emotional during a scene. The struggle.

kayla! you should TOTALLY do this link up sometime- i would love to “see” you (and bring a cup of cocoa of course). yup…without fail i always get the side eye from friends and family as those inevitable tears start rolling out because there’s the slightly emotion in something. that’s okay…emotions show we are human 🙂

I laughed out loud at the slow-mo Sugar move. I was a big reader growing up, too. I liked the Baby Sitter’s Little Sister series because the main girl’s name was Karen. also liked the Bailey School Kids books that you mentioned, Boxcar Children, and the Mary Kate & Ashley detective series (secretly thought we were triplets)

hah i’m glad the slow-mo could give you a chuckle, karen because i was sure cracking myself up for way too long while editing! ohhhh i totally forgot about the boxcar children AND MK+A detective series! that’s why i love books so much, you can get lost in all these different worlds!

Can I just say I love your vlogs?! They always make my day better. Loved hearing about all your favorite books/TV. I’m thinking I should probably start House of Cards–I’ve kept hearing it’s really good. Also Parenthood and Gilmore Girls give me all the feels.
