fun to play with other people’s dogs

we have had a great last few days together! the dogs mellowed out but not before running into swampy water so we had to bathe a poodle-so that was hilarious. poodle curls take forever to dry so you have to use a blow dryer, which i had to be a part of so i could not take pictures. who would have know dogs are so much work!?

ravery’s sister ashley came into town and i need to just take a minute to brag on us for not only working out this morning…but working OUTSIDE. thank goodness we motivated one another to workout because we ate chicken fajitas and pizza for lunch. whew. please enjoy this embarrassing and sweaty picture of us stretching, compliments of stealthy ravery.

she also brought her little puppy-bentley (just for clarification, all dogs are puppies and then puppy puppies are called baby puppies). he is actually 10 and came in with some wild and crazy hair:

and then we got him groomed and he was all wound up so sorry for the slightly blurry picture but he honestly lost at least 5 pounds of hair. soooooo cute! he looks like a lion.

i can totally see why people get obsessed with their dogs and take a lot of pictures. i will do my best not to let that happen since these aren’t even my dogs either. i am excited to have one someday but currently enjoy my freedom!

hope everyone recovered for the holiday week/weekend! we closed out the weekend with a beautiful texas sunset last night!

ps. this is with no photo altering software...because i don't know how to use them.

off to take more pictures of puppies.

wife lesson: it’s super fun to be around other people’s dogs and play with them but quite nice we don’t have that responsibility currently.

questions:
1) do you have any dogs? names and breeds and if you’ve ever had to blow dry their hair
2) do you feel like dogs limit your ability to travel/money/whatever (if you have one)?
3) place you’ve seen the prettiest sunset?

My folks used to have dogs. The last one they got was a substitute for me when I left for college, but I really loved him. A Bichon Frise (so adorable!) they named “Mogul” (after the skier’s term for “a bump in the snow”), he slept in my bed when I was home from school. They got him groomed professionally, so I was spared the blow drying!

I don’t have one currently, but I can answer this question because my feeling like they DO limit your ability to t/m/w is why I won’t get one!

    3) place you’ve seen the prettiest sunset?
There’s something about a sun setting on the ocean that is so beautiful. Spring of 2012, I got to see that from Nicaragua (where the activity in San Juan del Sur seemed to stop every night to watch!). Another great one was on a rooftop at the edge of Venice Beach in California (summer, 2010). The drum circle playing on the beach as the sun went down on the water… Incredible!

thanks for your comment dave! and how funny, ravery’s mom got the poodle when he left for college too 🙂 i had to google “bichon frise” and thank goodness they got him professional groomed because that would take forever to dry! what a fluff ball! loooove sunsets setting over water too. sounds like nicaragua was the place to be-wow as well as venice beach (i have seen it there) but now want to go one from the other place! how neat!
