friendship picnic date and hopefully no broken bones later!

yesterday we enjoyed such a fun time with going out to dinner with a friend of ours, jenn! she lives in DC but is back visiting family in houston. i unfortunately got too caught up in our dinner conversation and forgot to take a picture of the three of us so please appreciate this picture of us that a stranger insisted on choreographing and taking for us while we were in DC:

wife blog chelsea avery dcjenn suggested that instead of going to a restaurant we have a picnic dinner! um…so fun! we packed our own goodies (along with some to share) and met up to sit in the shade at 7:15pm (thankfully, it was only 89 degrees in houston at that time). ravery, my husband, may be the primary cook in our family but i sure can put together a mean picnic! look at how nicely i rolled that bag of chips down to take with us!

date night ryan avery chelsea averyi also found my new favorite tupperware in my mother-in-law’s cabinet. it perfectly fits 2 sandwiches like 2 peas in a pod (or like 2 sandwiches in a tupperware). ravery also said it was totally gross to pack our lunch in a bag that shoes came in. i argued that they were new shoes and therefore totally acceptable.

date night picnici encourage you all to try out the ‘picnic dinner’ with friends because it is quite affordable, fun, and you get to sample what your friends brought as well! so good to spend time with friends!

i also have some exciting news to share: WE ARE GOING ON A SEGWAY TOUR OF HOUSTON TODAY. my MIL is amazing and bought a groupon for us to explore the city by funny-looking-motorized-thingys. i expect to look very similar to this:

yes, gob bluth from arrested development

yes, gob bluth from arrested development

get ready for what i can only hope to be some hysterical pictures, hopefully no broken bones and new facts i learn about sticky, massive city of houston, texas! happy friday!

the new wifestyle: friendships are so important-it’s fun to find new ways to hang out (and fun to hear stories of how your husband was when he was 15)

questions:
1) what’s on tap for your friday?
2) last picnic you had and your essential picnic food?
3) your opinion on segways (the motorized scooter…not transitions into new topics)
