Tell Me Something Good – Sweet as Pie

By  |  15 Comments

i’m officially coming at you from the great state of colorado! we arrived mid-afternoon wednesday and just got the internet hooked-up. this is a huge deal because yes, we do a ton of our business online but more importantly…FULLER HOUSE IS HERE! i considered stopping there with sharing something good with you but alas, many good things have happened this week.

first off, we made it safely from oregon to colorado so yay! we had awesome weather and except for some winds over 50+ through wyoming, we totally lucked out.

averys move

here’s the extra “tell me something good” that i want to share on the fine and sunny friday. the evening we left, we made it to pendleton, oregon (about 3ish hours from portland but we wanted to do less driving the next day). my husband ventured next door to the hotel to grab us some dinner from shari’s, which is a delicious chain restaurant in the pacific northwest featuring a ton of pies.

as he left, he asked if i wanted any pie and i said i was good since we very carefully only packed road trip snacks with a high caloric index and highly addictive qualities. by the way, if you haven’t had a yogurt covered pretzel in a while…i highly recommend them but be warned you cannot eat just one.

anywho, as he placed our order he was eyeing the pies. he started talking with the waitress and she asked if he was staying at the hotel next door and if so, then he could get a free piece of pie! free pie changes everything, you see. my husband started vocalizing his tormented tastebuds saying he couldn’t decide if he should get an oregon marionberry one or a delicious chocolatey one for his wife.

pie again

the woman laughed and said “how about i give you the marionberry one for you and the chocolatey one for your wife, both on me?” now if that isn’t sweet as pie, i just don’t know what is (i said that last sentence as if i were originally from the deep south and only drank sweet tea so please read in your head accordingly).

pie yes

so kind of that nice woman in pendleton! he came back a true hero, carrying two slices of (free) pie and extra ketchup for my fries. i should probably put “do a million jumping jacks” on my to-do list soon.

stay tuned for monday’s post with valuable lessons learned in moving and a sweet giveaway featuring some dope swag – or whatever the cool kids say these days.

i know some good things have happened in your world lately, so let’s hear them!

Aw! I love awesome customer service…and the added bonus of a lovely husband to bring you back a piece…the best 🙂 *pie negotiation skills are a must* ahah

I love how you encourage others to think of something good, because it really makes you appreciate the positive moments you have have seen or noticed throughout the past week (month/year etc).

So my something good is…to share the name of a wise woman called Pema Chodron. For those who do not know, she is a Buddhist Nun, who is hilarious, has awesome audio books, and really helps you connect with yourself and others in the most compassionate way possible. Check her out!

Thanks again Chelsea for these lovely posts!!

P.S. Glad you and Ryan made it safe, so exciting starting a new adventure 🙂

Pie is always amazing, free pie even better. I don’t think I’ve ever had chocolate pie, though.

ohhhh it’s good! i’d recommend starting with a french silk chocolate pie to ease into chocolatey pie, sara!
